I find ironic that in these threads fans love to talk about Col. ![]() My reason for believing that certain parts of Elvis’s body of work shouldn’t be kept on the shelf by copyright holders is simple: Elvis was one of, if the not the most, important cultural figures of the 20th century, and, as with other such figures ranging from Beethoven to Miles Davis, his full body of work ought to be out there for the public to study. So they’re not as hands-off as you suggest. I believe Sony and FTD have actually sued or prosecuted some bootleg sellers. ![]() Ernst Jorgensen has sent cease and desist letters to certain fan sites for simply reviewing bootlegs. Part of the stated mission of FTD is to steer fans from bootleg product to official releases.
